Husqvarna has a very proud and long history. Founded as a firearms manufacturer in 1689, it is one of the oldest continuously running companies in the world.
Calling on their expertise of the 1930's lightweight motorcycle engines, Husqvarna started making chainsaws in 1959.
Constantly innovating and pushing themselves to always lead the market, results in the best outdoor power equipment you can buy.
Although heavily concentrating on robotic mowers these days, the current product line up contains some engineering excellence, of which we will explain a few examples here.
X-Torq 2-stroke engine design
This innovative intake method utilises a charge of air that pushes the exhaust gases out of the engine.
This results in being able to remove all the exhaust gases left over from the combustion cycle without any raw intake fuel escaping out of the engine.
This means 80% less emissions than the typical 2-stroke engine, more power and torque due to the cleanliness of the next mixture to be combusted and fuel saving as no intake mixture is wasted.
This engine design is in nearly all Husqvarna 2-stroke products.
Autotune
Rather than a mechanic or similar knowledgeable person manually tuning the engine to gain the optimal setting for peak performance, the Husqvarna Autotune takes care of this task better than a human could!
It constantly adjusts the fuel / air mixture to allow for changes in temperature, fuel quality, altitude and humidity.
Standard in the professional range of chainsaws and featured in some brushcutters.
